George Maridis

Senior Economist

George is a Senior Economist on the Tourism Economics consultancy team focused on impact analysis and policy development. He has built on his expertise in economic impact assessments and econometric methods, providing custom research to his clients. 

He works with both public and private sector clients around the world to help them understand their economic footprint. George has recently led studies for the cruise industry in the Caribbean and on cultural tourism in the Middle East and has extensive experience in assessing the economic impact of existing or proposed developments such as hotels, attractions, and transport projects.

Previously, George worked with Cambridge Econometrics and ICF on the economic impact of public policy, with a focus on digital, communications, and transport infrastructure—clients included the UK Government, the European Commission, and the European Parliament. George studied Economics with Spanish at the University of Exeter and completed a course on Machine Learning with Lancaster University.
